Brandy Baji, Stampin' Up! Demonstrator - Hilo, Hawaii

I love love love Stampin' Up! I have been in love since my first SU! Idea Book & Catalog.

I first joined Stampin' Up! in 2008, after I came across a SU! Demonstrator's blog while browsing for inspiration on a Cricut online community.
I fell in love with not just her projects, but the SU! products that were featured.

I knew immediately that I wanted to sign up as a Demonstrator. And so I did, and it was wonderful!

I dropped my SU! business while I was pregnant with my son, as I did not have the energy to keep up; however, I never gave up stamping!

After settling with my, now a baby bigger, family, I rejoined Stampin' Up! I cannot imagine being without SU! again.

I enjoy the opportunity to earn money while doing what I love, and sharing my passion and the opportunity for you to do the same.

Papercraft Star Challenge 16

Today is boring! It's Friday and my kids don't seem to have as much energy as I do right now. My son fell asleep watching his favorite movie, Toy Story. It's 11am and he's still in his Buzz Lightyear pajamas. He won't let me take it off! I won't force him either. His obsession with Buzz and Woody is so darn adorable! He will be Buzz Lightyear for Halloween, so check back after October 31 to see the cutest Buzz ever!! Ü My daughter is stamping right now. Her grandma's birthday is on Monday, and I gave her a card project to create for her.

Since my kids were occupied with their own things, I had time to play! I created this card for Papercraft Star. BTW, they are on a mission to get 1,000 followers (they need 187 more!), and if you are one of those first 1,000 followers, you are entered to win a $25.00 gift certificate! C'mon! For free craft supplies... it's not hard to click "Follow." They've got awesome weekly challenges, and the members that participate have such great ideas and can provide great inspiration for your next project. So here is my card:

Whisper White, Old Olive, Wicked Fun DSP, 5/8" Rich Razzleberry Grosgrain Ribbon, Natural Hemp Twine, Brights Brads, Brights Buttons, Ticket Corner Punch, Watercolor Pencils, Blender Pens, Dazzling Diamonds, Crystal Effects, Stampin' Dimensionals
*Digital Stamp from Bugaboo Stamps*

Isn't Halloween so much fun? The image is from Bugaboo Stamps. Because this week's Papercraft Star Challenge is sponsored by Bugaboo, I decided to feature their image on my card. Frank is my favorite Halloween character, especially when he's all cute and cuddly. It's his eyes, isn't it?! Ü  Well, here, I watercolored him, added Dazzling Diamonds glitter to his knobs, and Crystal Effects to the candy corn. The picture doesn't show much of it all... Shucks!

I had so much fun with this challenge. I look forward to participating in more of PCS challenges!

Ugh, now I'm bored again... my son is still sleeping and my daughter want to stamp more. Okay! Stamping it is!

Thanks for stopping in.

Wanna scrap?!

Last week, I took my son to the Emergency Room. He got a mosquito bite right between his eyes and it swelled to the point where it looked like his head was going to explode. Poor child! He had to have blood drawn. Then about fifteen minutes later, the nurse comes back to tell me that they will need to put an IV in and do another blood draw. I was fine, but she asked me "Wanna scrap?!" If she had asked me that question five years ago. I would have been dragged out of the hospital by police. Well, five years ago, I would not have been at a hospital with a child. Anyway, I just laughed. She told me that a few days before, a mother was so angry that she looked as if she was going to throw blows with the nurse. It shouldn't be funny, but it was!  Ü

I created this card using all the scraps I had laying around. This card was supposed to be my submission for Club Anya's Mystery Monday challenge. Because it's football season and my hubby is still hogging my computer, I am last minute in submitting my card today. And it's just my luck that I get an error page as I try to upload my picture for submission. Well, I still wanted to share my hard work here with you.

Whisper White, Sunny Garden DSP, Play Date DSP, Just Beleive Stamp Set, Paradise Stamp Set 5/8" Old Olive Grosgrain Ribbon, Natural Hemp Twine, Stampin' Dimensionals

The hula girl is from The Greeting Farm, I stamped it with Basic Black craft ink, and heat-embossed with clear embossing powder. Then I used Stampin' Up! Watercolor Pencils and Blender Pens to color. The flower was bought from Ben Franklin Crafts, a box for a dollar.

I had lots of fun with this card. The clear sheet that my hula dancer is mounted to is a transparency sheet for ink jet printers. This sheet has a textured side, which the ink sticks to... that allowed me to stamp onto the transparency. The stamped image does not come out perfect, and it will be mirrored, so it will not work with sentiments. I used it here so that you could see the background. I sponged the corners and edges with Early Espresso ink so that my Stampin' Dimensionals would not show through the transparency.

I was really proud of this card, it's too bad it will not be entered for this week's Club Anya challenge.

Hope you enjoyed it. Thanks for stopping by.

Happy Anniversary, Mom & Dad!

Happy 27th Anniversary to my Mom & Dad!

Today I wanted to create a card that was different from the rest on my display shelf. So, here, I admit that I am a fan of another stamp collection that is not Stampin' Up! That collection is from The Greeting Farm. Their character designs are so cute and so much fun. They definitely have a character that every individual can identify him/herself with. Although I have been browsing their online store for quite some time, I only made my first purchase yesterday. Normally, I can keep control and just think of all the wonderful things I could do with their stamps, but not this time. I have been drooling over their digital stamps that resemble the Twilight characters (FYI: I'm Twilight-obsessed!) since I layed eyes on them months ago. I finally got them! Ü Yay!!

Bashful Blue, Tempting Turquoise, Whisper White, 1/4" Whisper White Grosgrain Ribbon, Watercolor Pencils, Blender Pens, Sticky Strip, 1" Circle Punch, Paper Piercing Tool
 Images by The Greeting Farm

This is a 5 1/4" Medium Square Card. I printed the images on Whisper White cardstock, outlined with Watercolor Pencils, and blended with Blender Pens. Then I used my Paper Piercing Tool to pierce holes, and then stitched them with baby blue tread. I punched 1" circles to create the scalloped edge. I like larger scallops than the Scalloped Edge Punch.

As you can tell from the TGF Image, the male character resembles a Twilight character... Can you guess which one? Ü So the female is assumed. Oh, but no, I did not use the wrong colors. I mentioned today is my parents' wedding anniversary... my dad is a blonde, and my mom is beautiful.

Pardon the smudges. Just a note, when you use digital stamps that print to your home printer, and then watercolor, the ink bleeds. I never stopped to think about it before I began, because SU! inks don't bleed when I watercolor. Only realized that now! Ü

I really had a rough time embellishing this card. If it had not been a digital stamp, I would have embossed, maybe added some Crystal Effects or glitter. But for now, plain and simple works great.
